Bristol became the epicenter of experimental music on 2nd May as GNOD & White Hills brought their acclaimed Drop Out collaboration to Strange Brew, and we're thrilled to share the complete performance with you today.
This live capture demonstrates the extraordinary chemistry between Manchester's GNOD and New York's White Hills - a union that creates expansive soundscapes where motorik rhythms collide with searing guitars and hypnotic repetition. Their collaborative genius transforms traditional song structures into immersive sonic journeys that suspend time itself.
The full performance showcases why the Drop Out series has become a benchmark in contemporary psychedelia. Tracks like the extraterrestrial-powered Unify and the mesmerizing Model Citizen reveal the bands' ability to create music that is both structured and wildly experimental, grounded yet utterly transcendent.
The setlist draws from their extensive catalog, including material from the recently released Drop Out III, which represents a complete reimagining of their collaborative work. Each track unfolds with deliberate evolution, from restrained openings into cosmic sprawls of sound that showcase the bands' relentless forward momentum.
Complete Performance Tracklist: Dropout, Spaced Man, Unify, Model Citizen, Runaround, Per Sempre, Punkrockern
What makes this collaboration so compelling is its fluid, ever-evolving nature. After 17 years of partnership, GNOD & White Hills continue to discover new territories within their shared musical language, creating performances that feel both familiar and strikingly fresh.
Bristol's experimental psych-rock trio Bubblegum Hypnosis have brought their thunderous sound to the Astral Radio studio for our latest session. Fresh off their new album "Through the Sands" via Stolen Body Records, these three absolute units know how to make noise.
True to their "anything goes attitude," Bubblegum Hypnosis traversed multiple sonic territories - eastern psych influences, prog-tinged madness, and garage fury. As they put it: "Sometimes dirty, sometimes clean; sometimes reggae, sometimes mean" - but always played LOUD.
The trio have earned their stripes opening for Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Acid Mothers Temple, and Temples. If you dig King Gizzard, Osees, or just love music that hits you like a freight train of fuzz and fury, this session is for you.
Our session captures them in their natural habitat - loud, uncompromising, and utterly captivating. Whether you're discovering them for the first time or already know their work, this is essential viewing for anyone who believes music should be experienced at maximum volume.
